Yesterday’s rain brought some needed refreshment to area streams. The Little Juniata peaked at just over 700 cfs yesterday. The flow is on the decline now and should drop below 300 cfs by the end of the day – my advice for tomorrow, Go Fish! The trout are there.
Spruce Creek needed some rain to spread out the fish and give the water some color. Here’s a shot from the creek before the rain:
A good strategy after a heavy rainfall is to use flashy streamers and wooly buggers in the seams of the high and murky currents. The need for stealth diminishes as the water clarity degenerates.
